Changes

• The game now runs off an SSD instead of the previous SATA hard drives. From this point previous games such as Final and Time Traveler would also be sold on SSD.
• The FAST/SLOW judgement display was improved from Final.
• Song sorting categories were separated further. For example 2nd and 3rd shared a category in Final, but has their own categories in Final:EX. However 7th 1.5 and 2.0 as well as 3S and BE were merged into one folder.
• The option to darken the background video in EZ2CATCH was added.
• Stage indicator has been re-added to the music select screen.
• Furthermore a 7K RADIO (Legacy) mode was scheduled to be added in a future update, but was never implemented due to the discontinuation of development. This mode would have let the player play the old versions of courses and would be a revival of those old courses.

Hidden Commands

The following commands can be used in FINAL EX:

• JUDGEMENT CHANGE: On the song selection screen, hold down the pedal while pressing E1, E1, E1. Alters the judgement timing.
• EXTREME CATCH: On the mode selection screen, hold down the start button and press E1, E2, E3, E4 and select EZ2CATCH. Reduces the size of the catcher to 2/3.

Unreleased songs

Initially Ez2Ac Final:EX was scheduled to include 35 new songs. Out of these there would have been 20 originals, 12 O2Jam crossovers and 3 Pump it Up crossovers. As the games development ceased in 2022 after the release of ver 1.50, there were still some songs which were never added.
