Unofficial PC
Due to the PC's being a fairly standard early to mid 2000's build, the community has been able to put together custom builds to replace the old hardware in their cabinets. These builds work best with the windows XP based games (Evolve to FNEX) but are able to run everything back till 2nd TRAX perfectly fine with minor graphic issues (UPDATE: Using a TNT2 on WinXP resolves all graphic issues). The most important factor in a build for EZ2 is a motherboard that has an ISA slot and a parallel port, as these are required for I/O and hardlock functionality. Apart from that there is a fair amount of flexibility.
The common builds are as follows:
945 chipset
G41 chipset
G31 chipset
OS Image
EZ2DJ ran on Windows 98 SE since 1st TRACKS, but with the Evolve 1.02 update the OS was upgraded to Windows XP SP3.
If your original kit HDD is having issues, you can make a back up of the game data and build a fresh image on a new drive. When building a new image for your machine, its recommended use a fresh Windows XP SP3 image and only install the necessary drivers and programs for EZ2 to run. It is not required to use a korean copy of XP or set korean locale.
After successfully creating an image and getting EZ2 booting, it's highly recommended to make a .img backup that you can easily restore to incase of future drive failures.
The essential software is the following:
- Direct X SDK (June 2010)[1]
- .Net 4 Client Standalone [2]
- Hardlock Drivers for EV and older [3]
- UserPort - Enable ports 100-108 [4]
- Sound Blaster Drivers [5]
- Your motherboard chipset drivers
- Your GPU Drivers (NVIDIA)
